In March of 2016, Clickspring Design began renovation of the 4th floor at NBC’s Rockefeller Center to provide a space for both newsroom activity and multiple broadcast positions. The now completed design provides shooting opportunities in all directions while still accommodating real newsroom function.
A small “flashcam” studio in the northeast corner is intended as a more traditionally enclosed space, while video walls, graphic panels and flexible seating areas provide interaction between broadcasters and news gatherers. Exposed brick walls and steel columns maintain the historical integrity of the building while providing rich textural backgrounds. The space accommodates both NBC News and MSNBC programs.
