Job Description:

Under supervision of Senior Design Directors and Design Directors, Assistant Designers provide documentation needed to improve and communicate award-winning design solutions. This position requires documenting design solutions in a manner best suited to the needs of each particular project. Documentation may include Schematic Design drafting, Design Development drafting and preparation project specifications. The role requires identifying and maintaining the tools and resources needed to advance the quality of design within the studio. The primary responsibility of this role is that of timely creation, and production of the design and documentation work necessary to move projects from vision to successful completion. Under guidance of Design Directors or Vice Presidents of Design, Assistant Designers participate in the success of the studio, through continually seeking new methods and processes to execute best practices, streamline workflow and support the creative work that differentiates Clickspring Design from its competitors.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Support project research and creative inspiration
  • Support developing design work primarily utilizing 2D visualization tools
  • Supports production of Creative Presentation documents
  • Guide and produce industry-leading design documentation and detailing
  • Support Design Directors in producing graphic comps and final production files for print as needed
  • Support DDs in organizing and maintaining project folder and design resources
  • Manage time spent on projects as needed to successfully meet project budget and schedule requirements

Secondary Job Functions:

  • Continually strive to innovate design and documentation processes
  • Use knowledge of materials and methods of construction to create realistic and relevant solutions that adhere to the intent of the project’s design
  • Encourage and participate in a “just ask if you don’t know” approach to problem prevention

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend building plans, shop drawings, and construction documents
  • Basic understanding of materials and methods of construction
  • Proficiency with 3D modeling, particularly Cinema 4D
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and InDesign
