Hailing from the land of 10,000 lakes (even though it’s more like 15,000), Julia decided to trade the Twin Cities for the Big City. Though she never visited NYC before moving, Julia’s love for adventure led her to our doorstep. Julia has always known she wanted to change the world through design. Her career started at age 6, when her school district purchased a painting that she made of her family in art class. Right on par with her profession, Julia loves to draw, sketch, learn about art/look at art/make art. She takes design inspiration from TV and Film Sets, Es Devlin, Virgil Abloh, the Fashion Industry, Museum Exhibitions, and last but not least, nature!
Julia received a Bachelor of Design in Architecture with a minor in Sustainability Studies from the University of Minnesota and has the desire to visit every National Park—she’s visited 13 of them thus far! Though she has visited Rome, Istanbul, and Madrid, her favorite place in the world is Lake of the Isles in Uptown, Minneapolis, where she has spent a lot of time on her inflatable kayak. While that might not be the safest option in the Hudson River, she has lots of exploring (and getting lost) to do in her new city. With her love for the outdoors, Julia favorite local spots are the High Line and hidden parks across the city. When she needs a break from the (lack of) Great Outdoors in NYC, you can find her perfecting her guacamole recipe and attempting to attain her goal of trying every taco in Manhattan. And you can find us joining her on the taco journey too!
