We’re not sure what time period best suits Kendra James, but as someone with a soft spot for abandoned buildings, she was meant to land in New York.
This Texan went straight for architecture in undergrad at UT Arlington, graduating with honors and getting right to work as a project designer with WKMC in Dallas. Kendra handled a full range of responsibilities there, from presentations, schematic design, and cost analysis to construction on jobs ranging from retail offices and multi-family residential to historical conversion. Kendra’s next move was to pull up her boots, say ‘adios’ to Tex-Mex cuisine and follow her ambition to Pratt Institute in Brooklyn to pursue a Masters degree in Architecture.
Kendra expanded her design experience post-grad working with a high-end fashion start-up doing everything from advertising design to trade show booths before returning to her first love, architecture.
Clickspring provides the perfect place for Kendra to utilize her full complement of design, rendering, and fine arts tools, which includes everything from Rhino, Maxwell, and After Effects to film, photography and dance. (Heaven knows CSD needs better dancers!)
In her spare time Kendra enjoys transporting people into unknown realms by creating interactive environments out of found objects and then getting into character with wild costumes and face paint. She also wields a mean set of tongs and was named 2011 Project Parlor’s Grill Master Champion. We’ll have a plate of that served up with a pint of fine ale — as Kendra describes herself: “…copper in tone with a considerable depth of fruity, peppery character. Complex. Smooth. Best enjoyed at room temperature surrounded by family and friends.” Cheers!
